FAQ

Extrusion blow molding machine questions, answered without the fluff.

These answers are written for buyers comparing machines. Where a precise number depends on the mold, material or contract, the answer says so.

5 questions

What container capacity range do the machines cover?

The catalog covers 0.1–16 L single-station and double-station machines, 20–50 L single-station machines, and a PETG double-station configuration for 0.1–15 L. If your container is outside these ranges, the requirement must be reviewed rather than assumed to fit.

How do I choose between single-station and double-station?

Start with required output and changeover frequency. A single station is compact and straightforward; a double station is aimed at higher output per cycle and more intensive use of the extruder. Confirm the decision with a cycle-time calculation, not a brochure headline.

How many cavities can the machine run?

The small-container series states 1–6 cavities; the PETG configuration states 1–4 cavities. The usable cavity count is limited by container diameter, center distance, mold layout and clamp size. The catalog gives center distances for two-, three- and four-cavity layouts on the small models.

What information do you need for a machine recommendation?

The container drawing or sample, material and grade, target output, cavity preference, existing mold information, destination voltage and frequency, and the required certification or inspection documents. The more of these are fixed, the less the quotation has to guess.

Can one machine run different bottle sizes?

Yes, within the machine's platen size, platen spacing, clamping force and die-head limits. Changeover usually requires a different mold and may require a different die head, material settings and take-out arrangement. Confirm the changeover plan before ordering.

10 questions

What materials are listed for these machines?

The small-container catalog pages list PE, PP, HDPE, HDPP, PC, PVC, PETG and EVOH. The 20–50 L pages list PE, PP, HDPE, HDPP and PVC. The PETG page lists PETG. Final compatibility depends on the resin grade, product requirements and mold design.

What is clamping force, and why does it matter?

Clamping force holds the mold closed against the pressure of the blown parison. Too little force can cause flash, mold separation or wall-thickness problems. The catalog lists 100–155 kN for the small series, 215 kN for QQ-30L and 260 kN for QQ-50L. Mold area and blowing pressure determine the actual requirement.

What is platen spacing (daylight), and how do I check it?

Platen spacing (daylight) is the distance available between the platens. It must clear the mold thickness plus the space needed to remove the finished part. The QQ-50L is listed at 400–1000 mm and the QQ-30L at 350–800 mm; the small models range from 145–505 mm to 230–620 mm.

What is die plate size used for?

Die plate size limits the mold footprint that can be mounted. It must be checked together with mold thickness, weight and center distance. The QQ-50L lists 880 × 780 mm plates, the QQ-30L 580 × 740 mm, and the small models 290 × 320 mm to 500 × 490 mm.

Does extruding capacity equal finished bottle output?

No. Extruding capacity is the plastic throughput of the extruder, in kg/hr. Finished output is calculated from cavities, good parts per cycle and cycles per hour. Cycle time must include mold close, extrusion, blowing, cooling, mold open and take-out.

How do I calculate realistic output?

Use: cavities × good parts per cavity per cycle × cycles per hour. For example, a two-cavity mold with a measured 20-second cycle has 180 cycles/hour, or 360 theoretical parts/hour before scrap. Use measured cycle time on the actual mold and material, not the catalog's dry-cycle assumption.

What is the difference between installed power and actual power?

Installed power is the connected load used for electrical planning. Actual power is the catalog's reference operating value and varies with heating demand, material, cycle and ambient conditions. The QQ-50L lists 105–120 kW installed and 35–50 kW actual; use both figures for different purposes.

How does PETG change the machine specification?

PETG is processed for clarity and surface finish, so drying, melt temperature, mold cooling and parison control are critical. The catalog lists a PETG double-station machine for 0.1–15 L and 1–4 cavities, but does not publish a separate full power table. Final screw, die head, drying and utility requirements must be confirmed against the resin data sheet.

Can the machine use a mold I already own?

Possibly. Provide the mold drawing, overall dimensions, thickness, weight, cavity layout and existing machine interface. The project team must check platen size, platen spacing, clamping force, die-head position and mounting details before confirming compatibility.

What utilities does the machine need?

The catalog lists air pressure of 0.6–0.8 MPa depending on model and air capacity of 0.6–1.5 m³/min. Electrical voltage, frequency, connected load, cooling water and drainage must be confirmed for the destination and configuration. Use the quotation's utility schedule for site planning.

Commercial & service

6 questions

How is the machine price determined?

Price depends on the platform, station count, cavity and mold package, screw and die-head configuration, optional equipment, electrical standard, packing and shipping. The catalog does not publish prices; a quotation is prepared against a defined container and configuration.

What is the lead time?

Lead time depends on the model, mold scope, options and the current production schedule. It is confirmed in the quotation after the configuration and mold plan are fixed. Ask for the current slot rather than relying on a generic number.

Do you supply molds and auxiliary equipment?

The catalog shows blow molds, 32- and 48-cavity preform molds, PET jar preform molds, mixers, chillers, air dryers, high- and low-pressure compressors, crushers and auto-loaders. Availability for a specific project is confirmed in the quotation.

What about installation, training and warranty?

These are contract terms, not catalog specifications. Installation and training can be arranged; warranty period, response time, spare-parts scope and service charges are defined in the sales contract. Ask for the current policy for your destination.

Which certifications are available?

Certification depends on the model, manufacturing period and destination market. This website does not claim CE, ISO or other certification without a current document checked for the specific order. Request the certificate package with the quotation and verify the scope.

Can I visit the factory or arrange a trial?

Factory visits in Huangyan, Taizhou can be arranged by appointment. For a meaningful trial, prepare the container, material and mold information first so the right machine and test scope can be proposed.

Still have a specific question?

Send the container drawing, material and output target. A question tied to a real part is easier to answer precisely.

A precise answer starts with a precise input.

Container, material and output are the three inputs that move the conversation from general to specific.
