Industrial & Chemical Containers

20–50 L jerrycans and drums for lubricants, agricultural chemicals, cleaning products and industrial liquids.

Blue blow molded chemical jerrycan produced on an E-SHION machine

Industrial and chemical containers are heavier, deeper and less forgiving. The clamping system, platen size and mold support matter more, and the material decision is separate from the machine decision.

The E-SHION catalog addresses this range with the QQ-30L and QQ-50L single-station machines. Both are listed with larger platen dimensions and greater platen spacing than the small-container series, which is the relevant difference when the mold is deep or the part has a handle.

Large industrial containers put clamping force, platen size and mold support at the center of the decision. Chemical compatibility is a separate material question.

Selection factors

What drives the machine choice

These factors are reviewed together. One favourable number does not make a machine suitable.

Container size and mold depth: check platen size, platen spacing, mold thickness and weight.

Clamping requirement: use the mold projection area and blowing pressure to verify the catalog clamping force.

Handle and neck design: these can increase mold complexity and take-out requirements.

Material and chemical compatibility: confirm the resin and any barrier or recycled-content requirement with the material supplier.

Output: a single large part per cycle can be appropriate; multi-cavity large molds increase clamp and handling demands.

FAQ
Which model fits a 20 L jerrycan?

A 20 L container is below the 30 L and 50 L catalog maxima, but the decision is not based on volume alone. The mold dimensions, handle geometry, required output and clamp requirement determine whether QQ-30L, QQ-50L or a platform evaluated specifically for the container is appropriate. Provide the drawing for a proper check.

Can QQ-50L run a 50 L drum with a heavy mold?

The catalog lists 260 kN clamping force, 880 × 780 mm die plates, 400–1000 mm platen spacing and 13 t machine weight for QQ-50L. Those are the limits to check against the actual mold and process. A heavy mold or a demanding wall-thickness target requires engineering review, not an automatic yes.
